Music is an escape for a lot of people. For Kris Hype, it is a saving grace. This became more apparent after death and violence encompassed his life and now he shares his passion and talent with the world!

Kris was born and raised in the great state of Maine. Music was introduced into his life at six years old when his mother came home with his first record player. After learning how to read sheet music in the 3rd grade, he picked up the saxophone and also learned how to play the drums. At the age of 12, his life took a drastic turn after losing his father and grandfather within a month of each other.
At this point, it was just Kris and his mother getting by. It wasn't until the age of 17 that he picked up the guitar and taught himself how to play. By the age of 18, he wrote his first song. While working with other musicians, he received offers to go play for some big named producers and everything looked promising.
Unfortunately, those hopes and dreams were put on hold when Kris was a victim of a home invasion in which he was shot and hospitalized. Weeks later, he was arrested by the US Marshalls and charged and eventually convicted of possessing a firearm and marijuana. After spending over half a decade in a Federal Prison, Kris came home with drive and a fresh look on life. He is the lead singer the band Burning Time, still lives in Maine and plays out solo-acoustic full time.
